Entry Requirements

This application form is for  international students only.

If you are an Australian citizen or permanent resident, please visit  https://aviationaustralia.aero/enquiries/ and complete the enquiry form.

BEFORE YOU START

All documentation supplied with your application must be certified  and translated (in full) into English. What does this mean?

A certified copy is a copy of an original document that has been witnessed and declared as being a true copy by a person authorised to make such a declaration. Examples of such authorised people are Aviation Australia contracted Educational Agents, Judges, Solicitors, Notaries Public and Justices of the Peace (JP). Australian Embassy, Consulate officers, NAATI translators,or representatives of language testing organisations (such as IDP) may also be able to assist with certification of documents. If the authorised person does not have a stamp, they must write on the copy “I hereby declare that this copy is a true and correct copy of the original document” and they must sign their signature and print their name and title underneath the declaration.

If the document being certified is in a language other than English, an authorised translation must also be provided.  Documents that have been translated  must be accompanied by the source original.

Translation services can be provided by NAATI certified translators, Justices of the Peace, and Notaries Public. Aviation Australia  will not accept any document that has not been translated or stamped by a certified translator.

If your supporting documents are not certified, translated or in the correct format, your application will not be processed.

Additional Assessment Requirements:

For applicants from select countries, additional evidence may be required to assess your application. This may include, but is not limited to:

  • working with an approved agent to support your application and visa;

  • participation in a student interview;

  • providing financial evidence.

If your nationality is on this Country List, you must submit your application via one of our registered partners.

English Language Proficiency:

The minimum requirement is an Academic IELTS with 6.0  overall and with no sub band score less than 5.5. Aviation Australia accepts these  approved English language equivalent tests.  Testing must have been completed within 2 years from the enrolment application date.

Aviation Australia  do not accept IELTS General Training test results.

Academic Suitability:

Evidence of completion of Year 12, or an approved equivalent, with a pass in Mathematics (at minimum Year 10 or equivalent). Where an applicant does not meet these requirements, Aviation Australia may consider sufficient relevant work experience (documented via a resume and referees) and/or a successfully completed higher level qualification that demonstrates academic suitability.

Aviation Australia uses these  international education achievement levels that are equivalent to a Year 12 qualification in Queensland, Australia.

Minimum of 17 years of age:

Applicants under the age of 18 may be accepted where it is demonstrated they will be under approved welfare arrangements. This arrangement requires the approval of the Department of Home Affairs.

For more information visit   Department of Home Affairs – Welfare Requirements for Student Visa Applicants under 18 .

Genuine Student (GS) Assessment:

Applicants must complete the Genuine Student questionnaire included in this application form to be considered for enrolment.

Before submitting your application, please ensure that you have thoroughly researched your intended course of study, as well as the rights and responsibilities of holding a student visa in Australia.

International Students are required to demonstrate that they meet the Department of Home Affairs’  Genuine Student requirement for a student visa.

As part of the questionnaire, you will be asked to provide a Curriculum Vitae (CV)/Resume. This is mandatory and should include your education and/or employment history in reverse chronological order, along with references and contact details for referees.

Current Valid Passport:

The applicant’s passport must be current and valid for at least six (6) months from the course commencement date selected on the application form. The document must allow for international travel.

Before completing an application for a course package, you should ensure you have conducted sufficient research into your chosen course/s. For more information about this course package, please visit our website:  CQUniversity Bachelor of Engineering Technology

If applying for a course package, your Aviation Australia enrolment will be conditional upon acceptance into the university program and  additional entry requirements may apply

Aviation Australia will make the application to CQUniversity on your behalf, however they will be the principal course provider. The Department of Home Affairs will use your main (principal) course of study to work out what evidence of finances and English language skills you will need to provide to support your student visa application. Your student visa will then be granted for the duration of  both courses.

If your application is  not accepted by the university and you decide to continue your application for Aviation Australia, we (as the principal course provider) may require you to supply additional documentation to support your existing application, or to submit a  new enrolment application form.

If you are unsure about applying for the course package, please contact us for more information  before completing and submitting your application.
